The building of the new Alderney Library now enables more people to have access to greatly improved facilities and services. The old Library could only be accessed via 25 stairs in an old building. The new Library provides easy access for all those who, in the past, have been unable to fully benefit from the Library- whether it be the disabled, elderly, or mums with pushchairs. The new library also has improved facilities for the visually handicapped, for children, and for anyone wanting a reference area for quiet study. The Children's Room within the old Alderney Library was refurbished in the year 2000, and proved a great success in encouraging a greater number of children to use the library facilities more often. As much as possible has been transferred to the new library building..so nothing goes to waste. Please click on any of the headings below for more information...
